Seshu,

Grib2 data is packed in a totally different way from grib1 data. When
grib2 data is degribbed, there may be slight differences in the data
compared to the same dataset degribbed from grib1. When the model is run,
small differences in the initial conditions will grow
over time because of the chaotic nature of atmospheric dynamics (sensitive
dependence on initial conditions).
