Dear Jimy Dudhia,

the suspicion that it could be those four variables raises because of the difference between the wrf_real_input_em.d0* files and the wrfout_d0* files. In wrf_real_input_em.d0* variables ST000010, ST010200, SM000010 and SM010200 have quite reasonable values. With the wrf_real_input_em.d0* files wrf.exe runs well, while linking wrf_real_input_em.d0, from the "em_real" directory, to the wrfout_d0* files from a former run gives an error from LSM scheme advising that there is not enough soil temperature data.
As you mention it's not possible passing variables from wrf_real_input to wrfout_d0* as it happens with other variables like TSLB, SMOIS, SH2o, VEGFRA, SHDMAX or SHDMIN by specifying "h" in the Registry?

thanks for your help

Thorsten
