[Wrf-users] NAM GRIB2

Does anyone know where I may information on the differences between NAM 
GRIB1 and GRIB2 variable fields. I am able to run Hinterp in SOO/STRC 
version of WRF for NAM 212 GRIB1 but not the 218 GRIB2 data (via ftp 
files).  I am also trying to determine what the differences are between 
the NOAAPORT and ftp versions of the  NAM grib files (both GRIB1 and 
GRIB2). Any help or pointers to information is appreciated.
