Scientist and Engineer Positions at NCHC and NCTFR in Taiwan

The National Center for High-performance Computing (NCHC) and soon to be
established National Center for Typhoon and Flooding Research (NCTFR)
invite applications for a few tens of scientist and engineer positions at
the entrance to senior levels, beginning in May 2006.  Candidates should
have a Ph.D. or M.S. degree in Computer Sciences, Atmospheric Sciences,
Hydrology, Soil Mechanics, Oceanography, Hydrometeorology-related
Instrumentations, Applied Mathematics, Computer Fluid Dynamics, Physics,
Environmental Chemistry, Modeling, and Simulations, and related areas.
For senior positions, demonstrated excellence in research is required.
For entry level positions, potentials for quality research are a must.
For applicants with M. S. degrees, working experiences or publications are
preferred.

The successful candidate will add to the expertise in the Centers. focuses
in the development of earth system models in the aforementioned areas,
parallel computing, modeling environment, data collection and analyses,
visualizations, applied and basic research contributing to the main
mission of the Centers.   Successful candidates will have the opportunity
to join emerging multidisciplinary typhoon, flooding, and computational
science research initiatives.  The centers will have strong collaborative
research programs with universities and other national centers.
