You should set a non-zero length for the forecast time when preparing the
SST data.

Try running grib_prep.pl with:
${INSTALLROOT}/etc/grib_prep.pl -s 2005090100 -l 6 -t 6 SST

Although you specify more than one time step, only one is prepared because
there is only one time available in the grib file

Subject: [Wrf-users] question about SST files !!!

Hi dears,
           I am trying to make a simulation for the period between 01 and 05
September. I've downloaded archieves "oisst.data.grb" from
nomad3.ncep.noaa.gov/pub/sst/weekly/ and during my grib_prep preparation
when I
set
${INSTALLROOT}/etc/grib_prep.pl -s 2005090100 -l 48 -t 6 GFS everything is
ok.
However when I set

${INSTALLROOT}/etc/grib_prep.pl -s 2005090100 -l 0 -t 6 SST I receive the
message

Routine: grib_prep.pl
WORKDIR = /home2/pveiga/MODELS/wrfsi/extdata/work/SST
Opening /home2/pveiga/MODELS/wrfsi/extdata/static/grib_prep.nl
Copying /home2/pveiga/MODELS/wrfsi/extdata/static/Vtable.SST
Writing /home2/pveiga/MODELS/wrfsi/extdata/work/SST/grib_prep.nl
FSLfilter = 052440000

and the attached gp_SST.2005090100.log file rises.

I would like to know if there is some one who works with this kind of SST
file
with WRF and if that Vtable.SST from WRF works well for this kind of
archieves.

Thanks for all in advance
