Dear colleagues,

We would like to draw your attention to a session on Ensemble Prediction Systems, Stochastic Modelling, and TIGGE at the World Weather Open Science Conference, which will be held from 16th to 21st August in Montreal, Canada.

The conference will bring together the entire weather science and user communities to review the state-of-the-art and map out the scientific frontiers for the next decade. This ensemble session will be part of Theme 2 of the conference "Predictability and Dynamical/Physical/Chemical Processes," which covers knowledge of the processes that are needed to advance the seamless prediction of the earth system. This theme will connect research in the academic dynamical/physical/chemical meteorology communities and the operational numerical weather prediction centres.

We invite contributed papers on global and regional ensemble prediction systems, stochastic modelling of physical processes, and studies based on the TIGGE (THORPEX Interactive Grand Global Ensemble) dataset, TIGGE-LAM, or other ensemble datasets.

Abstracts can be submitted until 24th February 2014 through the conference website: http://wwosc2014.org/welcome_e.shtml , where more information is available.

You are welcome to forward this message to interested colleagues.

Best wishes,

Richard Swinbank and Tom Hamill (convenors)
