I would like to call your attention to a new Visiting Scientist Program

of UCAR, in cooperation with the Air Force Weather Agency (AFWA), at

the NASA-NOAA- DoD Joint Center for Satellite Data Assimilation (JCSDA)

in Camp Springs, Md. </font><big>Applications are being sought for

research scientists interested in advancing satellite data assimilation

techniques in

numerical weather prediction (NWP) and land surface modeling, and

transitioning these improvements into the operational

community-supported weather models run at the AFWA. <br>
