Thanks to a generous donation from Guy Carpenter, a reinsurance broker
company, and matching funds from the University and the Hong Kong
government, City University of Hong Kong has recently set up the Guy
Carpenter Asia-Pacific Climate Impact Centre. The Centre is now
recruiting four to six post-doctoral research fellows to perform research
in the following areas:
<ul>
<li>tropical cyclone climate in Asia and/or Southern Hemisphere
<li>monsoon (summer and winter) climate in Asia and/or Australian region
<li>urbanization and regional climate
</ul>Expertise in either observational analyses or modeling is
welcome.<br><br>
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in atmospheric science or related subjects
with some journal publications to demonstrate research competence.
Salary will be around US$3000 per month (depending on the number of years
of post-Ph.D. experience) with on-campus medical benefits.
Appointments can be up to two years with possibility of
extension.<br><br>
