12.0pt'>The Waterloo Centre for Atmospheric Sciences (WCAS) and MPB
Communications Inc. invite qualified candidates to apply for a position at the
Post Doctoral level in a project involving the design of a satellite mission
for the remote sensing of atmospheric clouds and aerosols. Funding for this
position is expected to become available in mid 2007. The project is based on the
<i><span style='font-style:italic'>IOSPEC</span></i> technology developed by
MPB for remote sensing by NIR optical spectroscopy. The duties involve the
design and testing of algorithms and hardware for the application of this
technology to space-based measurements. The project is a collaboration between
WCAS and MPB. The successful candidate will work with personnel from both WCAS
and MPB and the facilities of both organisations will be used in the work. The
successful candidate must have experience with atmospheric applications of spectroscopy;
Fortran and/or C,C++ and MATLAB or similar programming languages. Familiarity
with instrument interfacing and electronic control technology is an advantage.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
