I think it was because I had logged on to my system while under a particular wireless network (that required a password), and then I closed my machine, went back to my hotel room, where I was under a different wireless network. I then couldn't run idt until I had logged out and logged back in.</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:small"><br></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:small">The problem was that my DISPLAY was being set based on being logged onto a different network, and then it would no longer work once I got onto a different network. <div>Yes, the user has X11 (2.7.9) running on his machine. What’s odd is that he can run it on a remote machine and it works.</div>

You are able to run X11 clients from your user's host on *your* machine, but does your user have XQuartz installefd on *their* machine? (I'm sorry -- I'm not near a Mac at the moment to test how it behaves if attempting to run an X11 client without the server
installed(?)). <br>
