[ncl-talk] How to create .dat file?

A DAT file is a generic data file. Any file can have a .dat suffix.

There are numerous examples on the ncl website about how to output various
formats, including plain text or binary most likely to have a .dat suffix.
Theses are not consistent so you'll have to be more specific with follow
up questions.
