NCL V6.4.0 was built under whatever the latest version of Cygwin was around January/February 2017. If your Cygwin is older than this, then this could be the source of the problem.</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:small"><br></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:small">What I recommend is updating Cygwin.</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:small"><br></div><div class="gmail_default"><ul><li>Exit out of your current Cygwin window.<br><br></li><li>Go to <a href="http://x.cygwin.com/">http://x.cygwin.com/</a><br><br></li><li>Download the setup-x86.exe file (NOT setup-x86_64.exe)<br><br></li><li>Run setup-x86.exe. <br><br>Hopefully you should be able to accept all the defaults, UNLESS when you originally installed Cygwin, you didn't use the defaults. In that case, you'll want to use the same answers that you used before.<br><br>As you run this program, you may notice that it detects some of your packages are out of date, and it will indicate what new version it's going to install. 6.3.0. On closer inspection the new (6.4.0) binaries all have the *.exe extension. So I now have an ‘ncl’ and an ‘ncl.exe’ in my $NCAR_ROOT/bin/ (one from each version I assume).<u></u><u></u></span></p>
