[ncl-install] empty ncl file

Hi Luis,

Sorry I didn't respond sooner.  Your message had been held for approval and
I didn't notice the other message that came through. It's been a busy few
days!

It looks like the "szip" library is not being found.  If you look at the
make-output file and search for the text " -o ncl ", you will see the final
step where the "ncl" executable is getting compiled.  If you then look at
the next few lines, you'll see the error:

/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lsz
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
make[4]: *** [ncl] Error 1


The szip library is required for the HDF5 stuff.  You can get the szip
library from the same place that you downloaded HDF5:
