Hi Lifen,

NCL can run under Windows if you install Cygwin/X first. Cygwin/X provides you with a UNIX window and an X11 server, which is necessary if you want to view NCL graphics on an X11 window.

NCL runs under Linux just fine. This is by far the most common system that users install NCL under, and it can be a laptop.
