Hi Jianhua,

you could linearly interpolate the temparature down to 1 hour by using 
the daily cycle from some observations database of the temperature as a 
covariate. This would give you different slopes between each 3 hours 
intervals. This might give you a better interpolation (incorporating the 
physical local effects on temperature) than a simple linear 
interpolation. Might worth a shot.

However, I'm not sure how much grid-point your looking at and if there 
enough observations stations in your study area.
