The next Boulder Fluid Dynamics Seminar will be held on Tuesday, October 14 at 3:30pm in the DLC Collaboratory on the CU Campus. Thomas Lund from Northwest Research Associates will talk about the "Numerical Simulation of Gravity Wave Breaking in the Middle Atmosphere" and Paul Constantine from the Colorado School of Mines will give a talk titled "My Model Has Too Many Parameters! Active Subspaces for Dimension Reduction." An announcement with abstracts is attached.

You can get directions to the DLC and information on the upcoming Boulder Fluids Seminar schedule here:
http://boulderfluidsseminar.org/
Free parking permits for off-campus visitors can be picked up in the DLC Collaboratory prior to the seminar.

I have also attached an announcement for a RASEI Big Energy Seminar that may be of interest to those in the Boulder fluids community. Peter Taylor from York University will give a seminar titled "(Relatively) Simple Models of Flow in Complex Terrain” on October 17 at 10am, also in the DLC Collaboratory.

We hope to see you all on Tuesday (and on Friday too).

Best Regards,
Peter
