              style="font-size:12pt" lang="EN-US">The International
              Pacific Research Center (IPRC), University of Hawaii at
              Manoa (UHM), invites applicants for two postdoctoral
              research positions in the study of tropical cyclones. One
              position is for the study of variability of tropical
              cyclone activity over the central and western North
              Pacific at interannual to interdecadal time scales based
              on observations and climate model simulations. The other
              position is for the study of tropical cyclone dynamics,
              including rapid intensification and size change of
              tropical cyclones in the multi-year simulations of the
              global cloud-system-resolving model (NICAM) developed in
              Japan. </span><span style="font-size:12pt;color:black"
              lang="EN-US">Applicants must have a recent Ph.D in
              atmospheric science or a closely related field and have a
              strong background in massive data analysis and atmospheric
              dynamics. Both positions are initially for one year and
              renewable for a second year. The annual starting stipend
              for a recent Ph.D is approximately $55,000 per year and
              can vary somewhat according to the applicant’s
