Title: Acceleration of the Water Cycle over the Colorado Headwaters
<br>
<br>
Abstract: Theory and results from climate models suggest that
warming
<br>
due to greenhouse gases will lead to an acceleration of the water
<br>
cycle globally as a result of increased temperatures and moisture.
<br>
This study will examine the acceleration of the local water cycle
<br>
over the Colorado Headwaters region using an 8 year high resolution
<br>
simulation of WRF for a current and a future warmer, moister
climate.
<br>
The analysis will focus on three main components of the water cycle:
<br>
precipitation, evapo-transpiration, and runoff. Implications of
these
<br>
results for future research in the water cycle and climate change
<br>
will be discussed.
