Fellow postdocs,

If you are planning to attend AGU and are interested in doing outreach through gaming, the AGU organizers are looking for someone to take over running the GeoGames event this fall. See the email below for more information, and contact me or Jessica Brunacini (jbrunacini at ei.columbia.edu <mailto:jbrunacini at ei.columbia.edu>) if you have any questions.

> I wanted to touch base about an opportunity that you might be interested in. Pranoti Asher (AGU’s manager of education and public outreach programs) recently approached us to run the GeoGames <http://fallmeeting.agu.org/2016/event/geo-games-showcase-and-workshop/> event again at the 2017 fall meeting. This year, they would like to feature it as part of the student mixer, which is scheduled to take place from 6-8pm on the Monday of the meeting (which falls on December 11th, I believe).
>
> Our grant is actually coming to an end in late August, so unfortunately I will not be able to coordinate the event this year. Both Pranoti and I would love for the event to continue on, though, and we would like to pass the baton on to someone else. Would either or perhaps both of you be interested in and able to take this over? If not, do you have any suggestions for others we should consider asking?
>
> We have run the GeoGames event for the past three years and would certainly be happy to share our model and contacts as well as answer any questions that you or anyone else might have about what it means to coordinate the event. Please let me know what you think!
