[Grad-postdoc-assn] Application materials exchange

Hi NCAR post-docs,

During a lovely post-doc drinks last night (thanks, Clay!), we realized
that many of us are applying to faculty jobs and could benefit from each
other's feedback on our faculty materials. Given that earth science
departments tend to span many subfields, it could be especially helpful to
hear how someone outside our own subfield reads our materials.

So, here's the proposed plan:

If you have a *research statement* prepared for job applications, and you'd
like to get feedback, we'll meet up on *Friday* afternoon at the Mesa Lab
(time TBD depending on interest) and exchange statements with each other.
Afterwards, interested parties can segue into happy hour somewhere in town.

If the exchange goes well, we may meet up again for teaching statements,
CVs, and/or cover letters.

Send me an email if you are interested by *tomorrow*. I'll send a follow up
email just to the interested parties at the end of the day tomorrow so that
we all know how many copies of our statement we should bring.

Cheers,
Karen
