Good afternoon, everyone.

Please see below for an interesting outreach opportunity for engaging the
public and high school students through the Nederland Library system. If
anyone's interested in presenting about their science through this program,
please email them and cc me.

Thanks folks!
Carolyn

Hello Carolyn,

I have been contacted by a group in Nederland who would like to try to
arrange a set of presentations at the Nederland library starting in the
Fall. Below is a description/request for speakers with the general format
that they are interested in.

Dear Scientist,

Would you be interested in presenting this Fall 2016?

The Nederland Public Library and the local non-profit, Our Sacred Earth,
are hosting a series in the Fall 2016 highlighting local scientists in our
community.

The Theme:
"Our local Scientists caring for our Earth / Life”
--how they got involved in their work--what motivates them?
--what keeps them going?
--how their work touches our lives....

--what relation it has to caring for our Earth, particularly how they
address the related issue of climate disruption in their work and their
lives

Please contact both Jay Mann and Bonnie Sundance with a paragraph about
your work and another about your background/experience and how and when to
reach you by email & phone.

When are you available on these 2nd or 4th Tuesdays Sept. through Nov.?
We'd like to offer those who attend the opportunity to interact with you
with questions and discussion as well as your presentation, so have
scheduled the series for 7-9 pm.

Might you be available the same day for a presentation to students at the
local high school if we can arrange it?

Thank you for your interest,

Jay Mann, Director, Nederland Community Library
