Do you want to get your name on a cutting-edge environmental science
project?
Do you have an interest in getting published?
Do you have 1-2 hours a week to spare?

If the answer to any of these is yes, The Weather Archive is looking for
grad student/post doc contributors and developers. The Weather Archive (
www.WxArchive.com) is a community service project working to implement a
cloud-based data visualization software that allows anyone to examine and
explore environmental data. The specific goal of the site is to facilitate
scientific understanding and accessibility to open scientific data by
providing an uncomplicated and interactive means for users to explore the
past, present, and possible future of weather and climate.

Contributors would assist the development team in implementing specific
program goals such as configuring a wide variety of data sources into the
software, language localization, beta testing, community outreach, social
media presence, feature development, and comprehensive site evaluation.
Contributors with software development or programming experience that are
willing to put in more than 1-2 hours per week would be encouraged to join
the development team, proper.

Contributors will receive recognition for their work and developers, as
well as contributors that produce a significant contribution to the
project, will be given the option to be included as co-authors on any
future publications or presented work.

If such an opportunity would be of interest to any of you, let me know at
michaeljp24 at gmail.com. Together, let's make something great for the
environmental science community.

Cheers,

-- Michael Peterson, Ph.D.
