Post-doctoral position in land-atmosphere interactions

A research scientist position ideally suited for a recent PhD graduate
is available in the Department of Meteorology, College of Earth and
Mineral Sciences at Penn State University. The appointment is for one
year but can be extended depending on documented research progress.

The position entails analyses, interpretation, and reporting of energy
and carbon fluxes data obtained at various locations around the world.
In addition, the position requires the development, testing, and
application of numerical models to study thermodynamics and dynamics of
the atmospheric boundary layers over marine and continental
environments, and to investigate cloud formation processes. Cloud
resolving and air quality numerical models need to be applied to
consider the influences of particles on cloud formation processes and
associated impacts on regional climate. This position also offers the
opportunity to participate in field research activities in the general
area of land-atmosphere interactions.

Interested candidates can contact Professor José D Fuentes via email
(jdfuentes at psu.edu). Pease submit a complete resume, a brief letter
indicating professional goals and how academic background and research
experiences match the described position, and three names of referees
with their associated contact information.
