[Grad-postdoc-assn] Nominations for next TLS speaker

Hi everyone,

we now have 5 nominations for the two new TLS speakers for fall 2011 and 
spring 2012. Their names are:
Prof. Thomas (Tom) Dietz
Prof. Stephanie Pfirman
Prof. Shadia R. Habbal,
Dr. Richard H. Moss
Dr. Frank Marks, Jr.

We also have a nomination of Al Gore. As he does not fit the TLS 
criteria, he's out of competition for the TLS vote, but if people are 
very interested in bringing him here, Chris said we can explore the 
possibility of bringing him in for a separate event. We'll talk about it 
next week, so think about what you think of that idea.

We'll meet next week Wednesday (May 25th) at 10am in the Mesa Lab 
cafeteria to vote on these nominations (choosing two, plus two 
alternates). We'll have coffee, tea and cookies, and we hope to see you 
all there. If you're traveling or otherwise unable to come, you can also 
send your votes for your two favorite candidates to Alex at 
ajahn at ucar.edu *before* the meeting (and also let us know whether you 
have an opinion on bringing in Al Gore for a separate event).

If you have a last-minute nomination, please post it by Monday, so 
people voting by email can see the nomination before casting their vote.
