This month's PAC workshop is:


    Legal and Immigration Issues for International Postdocs//

October 21st, 2010, 11:00AM - 1:00PM, Aspen Rooms, UMC

Immigration attorneys Edward Leavy, Brendan Delaney will cover recent 
topics in immigration law and regulation including: your legal rights as 
temporary residents, J-1 versus H1-B and the two year home residence 
requirement, other temporary visa options, permanent residence: 
self-sponsored & institutional sponsorship.

There will also be an opportunity to have *free* *private consultations* 
after the workshop.

            *New Drop-in Resumé Clinic*

In response to recent demand, Prof. Patricia Rankin will be running 
drop-in sessions to help Postdocs improve written materials for job 
applications or interviews. *No appointment is necessary* so drop by 
with your resumé etc. on *October 26th, 10 AM - 12 PM. *Sessions will be 
held in Regent Administration, room 1B18 (enter through 1B29). There 
will be further sessions held in November and December, see the PAC 
website for details.

If these sessions prove to be popular then this will pave the way for a 
permanent career service option for Postdocs, so please take advantage 
of this opportunity!
