Hello Cutting Edge workshop alumni,
I'm pleased to forward the following letter from Jill Singer, Program
Director in the Division of Undergradute Education at NSF announcing two
webinars especially for geoscience/physical geography faculty. The CCLI
(Course, Curriculum, and Laboratory Improvement) program is a great
program and I expect would be of high interest to participants from
Cutting Edge workshops. We note that this program is only for projects
that focus on undergraduate education (not K-12 education). I've given
the synopsis of the program, due dates for Type 1 proposals, and the url
for the program following Jill's message.
I think it is great that Jill is providing this opportunity to learn
more about the CCLI program and hope that many of you sign up for the
webinar (registration is required and participation is limited).
I also hope that many of you submit a proposal!
Best wishes,
Heather

geoscience/physical geography faculty are being offered. If you are
unfamiliar with the CCLI program, or you would like to know more about
the current solicitation, register for one of the webinar times
identified below.
I?ll spend the first 30 or 40 minutes of the webinar highlighting the

synopsis (from NSF website)
The Course, Curriculum, and Laboratory Improvement (CCLI) program seeks
to improve the quality of science, technology, engineering, and
mathematics (STEM) education for all undergraduate students. It
especially welcomes proposals that have the potential to transform
undergraduate education in science, technology, engineering, and
mathematics (STEM) for all students. The program supports efforts to
create, adapt, and disseminate new learning materials and teaching
strategies to reflect advances both in STEM disciplines and in what is
known about teaching and learning. It funds projects that develop
faculty expertise, implement educational innovations, assess learning
and evaluate innovations, prepare K-12 teachers, or conduct research on
STEM teaching and learning. It also supports projects that further the
work of the program itself, for example, synthesis and dissemination of
findings across the program. The program supports projects representing
different stages of development, ranging from small, exploratory
investigations to large, comprehensive projects.
