>
> An Asian Listening Meeting has been set up by a Program Committee
> whose membership includes Bill Kuo, Raj Pandya, Mohan Ramamurthy,
> Jenny Sun, and Roger Wakimoto. This is the first time UCAR has
> arranged such a gathering of the Asian scientific staff and we hope
> that you will plan to attend on Friday, April 17 from 2:00-4:00 pm at
> the CG1 Auditorium. Questions that we would like to discuss include:
>
> - How can the organization help you in your career development?
> - Do you feel that there is equal opportunity for advancement within
> the organization?
> - Do you see cultural or language barriers that prevent you from
> attaining your career goals?
> - Are there ways the organization could create a more welcoming
> environment?
> - Do you feel that your skills are appreciated by the organization and
> appropriately rewarded?
>
> The Program Committee invites you to provide comments/input into our
> agenda and suggest issues that you would like to see discussed. You
> can forward your comments to any of the committee members via e-mail
> or bring these topics up at the beginning of the meeting. We
> anticipate that input from the meeting can help to inform the NCAR
> Workforce Management Plan that is currently being developed.
>
> The forum that the Program Committee is arranging will provide an
> opportunity for you to express your opinions while maintaining
> confidentiality outside of this meeting. The meeting format will
> include plenary sessions and small breakout groups to address the
> questions (and recommendations) listed above and other issues that
> might surface during the discussion.
>
> We sincerely hope that you will attend. Your participation and
> opinions are important to us.
>
> Best regards,
> Bill Kuo, Raj Pandya, Mohan Ramamurthy, Jenny Sun, and Roger Wakimoto
