Dear All,

Just a reminder about publication acknowledgments and disclaimers per the
terms of the current NSF Cooperative Agreement:

Scientific articles or papers appearing in technical or professional
journals must include the following acknowledgment:

"The National Center for Atmospheric Research is sponsored by the National
Science Foundation."

If this work is supported by non-NSF sources, the names of those sources may
be added to any acknowledgments.

Per Gina Taberski:
If the PI is working under a NOAA award, the additional acknowledgment is:

"This [report/video] was prepared by [recipient name] under award [number]
from [name of operating unit], U.S. Department of Commerce. The statements,
finding, conclusions, and recommendations are those of the author(s) and do
not necessarily reflect the views of the [name of the operating unit] or the
U.S. Department of Commerce."

Other agencies may have their own unique language, therefore administrators
and authors should check their individual awards to be sure.

****

Please note that for news releases, popular press publications, World Wide
Web sites and similar items the following acknowledgment and disclaimer
language is required:

"The National Center for Atmospheric Research is sponsored by the National
Science Foundation. Any opinions, findings and conclusions or
recommendations expressed in this publication are those of the author(s) and
do not necessarily reflect the views of the National Science Foundation."

Please share this reminder with any of your colleagues responsible for
publications and web work. If you have any questions, please let me know, I
would be glad to follow up.

>From the Cooperative Agreement:

identifying the Center at its various locations. The National Science
Foundation name shall be prominently displayed on all buildings and aircraft

or developed under this Agreement:
"The National Center for Atmospheric Research is sponsored by the National
Science Foundation. Any opinions, findings and conclusions or
recommendations expressed in this publication are those of the author(s) and
do not necessarily reflect the views of the National Science Foundation."
The second sentence may be omitted from scientific articles or papers
appearing in technical or professional journals.
d. If the work is supported by non-NSF sources, the names of those sources
may be added to any acknowledgments and disclaimers.
e. News Releases - The Awardee shall consult with the NSF Program Official
