Dear colleagues,

Here's a reminder about the workshop on Teaching Introductory Geoscience
Courses in the 21st Century (one of this year's Cutting Edge
workshops). Please help us publicize this opportunity by forwarding the
email to others who might be interested.

Teaching Introductory Geoscience Courses in the 21st Century
July 14-17, 2008
Carleton College, Northfield MN
APPLICATION DEADLINE MARCH 3
http://serc.carleton.edu/NAGTWorkshops/intro08/application.html

The workshop will showcase the innovative and exciting teaching taking
place in introductory courses today and will provide a forum to discuss
strategies for having a long-term impact on students, for teaching the
process of science, and for improving student learning. Workshop content
and activities will be applicable to a range of introductory earth science
courses, such as physical and historical geology, environmental science,
oceanography, natural hazards, as well as courses that follow a regional or
topical theme. Participants will help to build an on-line collection of
teaching resources and materials related to teaching introductory
geoscience courses. More information about the workshop at the site given
below

This workshop will be patterned after the successful workshops on Teaching
Mineralogy (1996), Teaching Petrology (2003), Teaching Structural Geology
(2004), Teaching Hydrogeology (2005), Teaching Sedimentary Geology (2006),
and Teaching Geophysics (2007)
