Dear GO-ESSP,

It has come to my attention that the links in the GO-ESSP Workshop announcement that I sent out on Monday had a formatting problem which rendered them unusable.
Here are clean versions of the links:

Announcing the 2015 Global Organisation for Earth System Science Portals (GO-ESSP) Workshop

Dates: 24-26 February 2015.
Location: The Cosener's House, near Oxford, UK.
Abstract Submission: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/go-essp-2015-workshop-registration-14804208787
Abstract deadline: 18th January 2015
Website: http://go-essp.gfdl.noaa.gov/2015/

The 2015 GO-ESSP workshop will have as the overarching theme “The challenges of providing portals for diverse user communities”, and each day will have a sub-theme. The first day will address targeted portals, that is portals for specific user communities such as for capacity building, regional portals and portals that support specific topics. Such portals will go beyond data alone and exploit expert knowledge, and are likely to benefit from interdisciplinary communities using effective collaboration tools. The second day will address data standards, including the CF conventions, vocabularies and catalogues. The final day will focus on CMIP6 and the outlook for big data.

The meeting will be held at The Cosener’s House, near Oxford in the UK. The venue holds approximately 70 people, so if the meeting is over-subscribed, the GO-ESSP committee will review and select based on abstracts provided. This year we intend to provide plenty of scope for interaction, and so will have a balance of talks and posters aimed at creating space for conversation. Poster presenters will be expected to provide a lightning talk.

We look forward to reviewing your submission.

kind regards,
Charlotte Pascoe
on behalf of the local organising committee
