Assistant Professor in “Climate and Weather Processes of the Atmosphere”. This faculty position is envisioned as the first of a long-term investment in our core strength in the physical science of processes that control climate and weather. It will support
Oregon State University’s broad research portfolio of interdisciplinary climate and environmental research.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto"><span style="font-size:10.5pt;font-family:"Helvetica Neue"">We seek an atmospheric science faculty colleague who will teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, develop
and maintain vigorous externally funded research programs, and add to the culture of inclusion and collaboration in the College. CEOAS recently introduced an undergraduate degree in climate science. The successful candidate will have an important role in the
growing academic program in climate and atmospheric sciences, by expanding both undergraduate and graduate course offerings. They may collaborate with current faculty on high-impact research, complementing existing areas of excellence within the Physics of
Oceans and Atmospheres (POA) discipline group, within CEOAS, and across the university. The candidate will take advantage of multiple research opportunities by responding to major calls and opportunities from agencies and university initiatives. We welcome

<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto"><span style="font-size:10.5pt;font-family:"Helvetica Neue"">The College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences is an internationally recognized leader in the study of the Earth
as an integrated system. It operates numerous state-of-the art laboratories and two oceanographic research vessels. CEOAS houses the Oregon Climate Change Research Institute, and the Marine Geology Repository. The College has an annual budget of more than
$50 million, with support from the National Science Foundation, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and other federal agencies. It has more than 100 faculty, 150 graduate students, and 800 undergraduate
students. Graduate programs include master’s and PhD degrees in Ocean, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences; Geology; and Geography and a master’s degree in Marine Resource Management. The College has undergraduate programs in Climate Science, Geography and Geospatial
Science, Geology, Ocean Science, and Environmental Sciences, with several minors and certificate programs. CEOAS has received philanthropic gifts to support students interested in climate science, including scholarships for students from underrepresented populations.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
