          Observatory in Palisades, New York, is seeking a Postdoctoral
          Research Scientist to join its Atmospheric Chemistry Group (<a

          under the mentorship of Professor Arlene Fiore and Dr. Dan
          Westervelt</span> (<a

          class="">, within the Lamont research community.<span class=""> 
          </span>The project involves collaboration with scientists in
          the Mailman School of Public Health, Ecology Evolution and
          Environmental Biology, Electrical Engineering and the Data
          Sciences Institute.<span class="">  </span></span></p>
      <span class=""> </span><span class="">The Postdoctoral Research
        Scientist will apply multiple data science approaches to
        identify sources of fine particle pollution over India.<span
          class="">  </span>A model will be used as a testbed for
        method development, with an eventual application of these
        methods to products retrieved from current and soon-to-be
        launched satellite instruments and other public datasets.<span
          class="">  </span>We seek a data scientist or
        atmospheric/climate scientist with prior experience analyzing,
        visualizing, and interpreting large datasets.<span class="">  </span>The
        researcher is expected to present findings at national and
        international scientific conferences, to prepare publications
        for submission to scientific journals, and to participate in
        other activities related to the project.<span class="">  </span></span>
      <p class="MsoPlainText"><span class=""></span><span class="">Ph.D.
          in Atmospheric, Climate, or Earth System Science, Statistics,
          Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or related field is
          required.<span class="">  </span>Prior scientific experience
          and strong coding skills in data visualization and statistical
          analysis (e.g., Python, R, Matlab, Fortran, etc.) required.<span
            class="">  </span>Experience with designing, configuring
          and conducting model simulations also useful.<span class=""> 
          </span></span> </p>
      <p class="MsoPlainText"><span class=""></span><span class="">Appointment
          will be for one year with potential renewal for a second year
          contingent on progress and funding.<span class="">  </span>Columbia
