<div style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;" class="">leader in Earth sciences. Fundamental research is combined with an emphasis on interdisciplinary</div>

<div style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;" class="">science, natural resource management, and understanding of the impacts of natural disasters and</div>

<div style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;" class="">global environmental change. The Rosenstiel School seeks to expand its vibrant intellectual</div>

<div style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;" class="">community through inviting applications for an endowed chair position in any RSMAS discipline</div>

<div style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;" class="">relevant to scientific applications of remotely piloted aircraft systems. This includes research in</div>

<div style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;" class="">support of policy-relevant climate change adaptation and conservation-related decision-making.</div>

<div style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;" class="">The successful candidate will direct the newly created Aircraft Center for Earth Studies (ACES).</div>

<div style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;" class="">The endowed chair position is anticipated to be at the tenured Associate or Full Professor rank, but</div>

<div style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;" class="">an exceptional applicant at the Assistant Professor rank will be considered. The position also</div>

<div style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;" class="">includes recruitment of a research faculty person to advance ACES goals.</div>

<div style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;" class="">extramural funds, and strong teaching and communication skills. She/he will lead the ACES effort</div>

<div style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;" class="">to expand and develop the use of new airborne-based technologies to further research of terrestrial,</div>

<div style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;" class="">oceanic and atmospheric environments and/or develop and engineer new airborne systems and</div>

<div style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;" class="">sensors. The faculty member will be expected to develop an active, externally funded research</div>

<div style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;" class="">program; develop collaborations both internal and external to the University; teach undergraduate</div>

<div style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;" class="">and graduate courses; recruit, mentor and advise graduate students; and engage in service within</div>
