Roman"">) shortwave infrared spectroscopic measurements
of local methane sources worldwide. Airborne measurements by
MethaneSAT’s testbed instrument MethaneAIR will be used to
develop the XCH4 algorithm for MethaneSAT before its launch in
2022. The research involves improving atmospheric spectral
fitting, inversion, radiative transfer modeling, instrument
calibration, and validating measurements.</span></p>

The applicant must have a Ph.D. in atmospheric science,
meteorology, physics, or a related field and should have a
strong background in remote sensing of atmospheric trace gases
and aerosols, radiative transfer modeling, and spectroscopy.
Excellent computer skills, good oral and written communication
skills in English as demonstrated by a publication record, and
the ability to start very soon are prerequisites. </span></p>
