project SCALAR. The project aims to constrain the dynamic
history of the Antarctic Ice Sheet using ice rises as an
archive which can be deciphered using ice-dynamic
modelling in conjunction with airborne radar sounding.
This will deliver sorely needed constraints for
Antarctica’s coastal regions helping to better understand
Antarctica’s past and also its future. The main research
focus of the project will be on 3D full-Stokes ice-flow
modelling of ice rises investigating for example ice-ocean
interactions using the model </font><font color="#0000ff"><font
color="#00000a"><span style="text-decoration: none"><a
href="http://elmerice.elmerfem.org/">Elmer/Ice</a>.
The model simulations will then be supplemented with </span></font></font><font
color="#00000a">the analysis (e.g. subglacial structures)
of ultra-wide band radar data, covering multiple ice rises
in Dronning Maud Land, East Antarctica. </font></font></font></font>
