<b>POSITION OVERVIEW </b></p>

The Corning School of Ocean Studies at Maine Maritime Academy seeks an interdisciplinary and collaborative visiting Sawyer Post-doctoral Fellow or Assistant Professor to assist the Ocean Studies department with the establishment of a new baccalaureate degree
program in Coastal and Marine Environmental Science (CMES). It is anticipated that the visiting Sawyer position will be a one-year position, with the potential to be renewed one year at a time for up to three years. </p>

The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to undergraduate teaching excellence, an enthusiasm for team teaching, and the potential to develop new upper division courses in their area of expertise. This full-time, stipend-based visiting position
carries a maximum of 24 units teaching load per academic year. </p>

The visiting Sawyer position will work with Ocean Studies faculty to develop, incorporate, and co-teach coastal and marine environmental content into the first-year introductory course Introduction to Marine and Environmental Science, as well as develop upper
level courses Global Change and Land-Margin Ecosystems. Teaching responsibilities include time spent in the classroom or laboratory; preparing contemporary teaching materials; conferring with students on course materials; directing individual and group studies
and practica; reviewing written examinations and papers; and evaluating presentations. </p>
