potential extension to 2 years for a post-doctoral research fellow at NCAR. The new hire will conduct regional climate modeling research focused on precipitation, land-surface, and permafrost changes across the Alaska and the Yukon River basin as part of
a new NSF-funded Navigating the New Arctic (NNA) project. The successful candidate will use the Regional Arctic System Model (RASM) to develop historical and future regional climate simulations with the NCAR led Community Terrestrial Systems Model (CTSM).
While the exact research questions can be aligned with the successful candidate’s interests, the general project goals are to assess projected changes in Arctic precipitation, temperature, and subsequent impacts on regional hydrology including snowpack, soil
