occurring at the air-sea interface, with a demonstrated expertise in sea-going observations preferred; and (ii) geophysical fluid dynamics and other theoretical research related to oceanic phenomena. Both of these areas have been identified as high-priority
long-term needs for the SIO Physical Oceanography faculty. The successful candidate is expected to develop a strong extramurally supported research program that complements existing physical oceanography research at SIO. The successful candidate will also
be expected to contribute to teaching the Physical Oceanography curricula for graduate and undergraduate students.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
