<p class="MsoNormal">The Kentucky Climate Center at Western Kentucky University is seeking applicants for the position of Mesonet Systems Meteorologist I for the Kentucky Mesonet, a research-grade weather and climate monitoring infrastructure that supports
public safety and economic development across the Commonwealth of Kentucky. This position provides an opportunity to contribute to both operational and research & development programs of the Kentucky Mesonet. The workload will balance the seasonal demands
for testing, calibrating, and maintaining meteorological instrumentation and equipment both at monitoring sites and in a laboratory, with engagement in administrative, research, and outreach activities that derive from the Kentucky Mesonet.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Primary Duties and Responsibilities:<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Traveling to remote sites, sometimes requiring overnight stays<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Troubleshooting and repairing/replacing failed sensors and electronic equipment at Mesonet sites on a deadline basis<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Operating power equipment to maintain site vegetation<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Performing calibrations of sensors at Mesonet observing sites and in Mesonet laboratories<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Submitting paperwork and digital metadata on a deadline basis to document sensor problems and site conditions/inspections<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Installing and testing sensors and electronic equipment at new Mesonet sites<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Serving as a point of contact and interacting with site hosts<o:p></o:p></p>
