<p class="MsoNormal">The Department of Biology at the University of Nebraska at Omaha invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor starting August 2020. A Ph.D. in the life sciences and postdoctoral research experience
are required. <o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">We seek candidates who will develop research focusing on the ecology of wetlands and their associated organisms, with emphases on environmental applications and a significant field component to be based in the Great Plains. Research areas
of interest include, but are not limited to: the efficacy of management activities intended to maintain or restore wetlands, the role of wetlands in the flow and capture of carbon, nitrogen and other nutrients or contaminants within watersheds; importance
of wetlands for organisms, biological communities (plant, animal or microbial communities), or ecosystems.

<p class="MsoNormal">The successful candidate will establish an active, externally-funded research program and contribute to introductory biology or environmental science courses and senior/graduate level courses. Field-based facilities support research and
teaching programs in the department; these include a 172-ha prairie preserve that includes access to a local stream system.
