<a href="https://www.cdph.ca.gov/oaq">Outdoor Air Quality (OAQ)</a> Section Chief leads and supervises OAQ staff to conduct applied research, develop innovative air sampling strategies and analytical methods, and perform complex field and laboratory analyses
 covering a wide range of activities including (1) investigating airborne toxicants in the outdoor environment, (2) performing environmental forensics for toxic chemical emergencies and chemical threat investigations; and (3) providing technical support and
 guidance to public health agencies and emergency planning organizations focused on all-hazards screening and hospital preparedness. S/he also assists the EHL Branch Chief in the management of laboratory operations.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"><a href="https://www.cdph.ca.gov/EHL/">Environmental Health Laboratory</a> (</span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">EHL) is one of the six public
 health laboratories at the State of California Department of Public Health Richmond Campus.  It is responsible for laboratory services in support of public health programs, applied research, human studies related to chemical exposures, and analyses of environmental
 and clinical samples for toxic substances. These include lead, air pollutants, pesticides, asbestos, and biologically-derived contaminants such as molds. The EHL provides technical assistance, develops new methods to better measure exposures, and serves as
 a reference and referee laboratory. In addition to Outdoor Air Quality, EHL programs include Biochemistry (lead testing & biomonitoring) and Indoor Air Quality.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
