I am recruiting motivated students to conduct graduate research starting Summer or Fall 2020 on groundwater dynamics in coastal and wetland systems responding to sea-level rise. At least one student is sought to quantify how groundwater
flow theoretically can and does change the timing, availability, and quality of coastal hydrologic signals. The student will be encouraged to approach this problem via numerical and field analyses, ranging from numerical modeling to collecting and interpreting
water level and geophysical time series. Come research sea-level rise from Wyoming! Wyoming: central to US coasts and immune to direct sea level-rise hazards for millions of years.

Students with a quantitative background and an interest in groundwater hydrology, preferably with a MS degree from a water-related field, are invited to apply. Experience with scientific programming, GIS, and numerical models would be beneficial.
The student will be advised and supported by Dr. Kevin Befus (http://www.uwyo.edu/befushydro) in the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering (http://www.uwyo.edu/civil/)
and interact extensively with the Wyoming Center for Environmental Hydrology and Geophysics (WyCEHG,
http://www.uwyo.edu/epscor/wycehg/). For more information on the Interdisciplinary Ph.D. in Hydrologic Sciences program, please refer to the Water Resources, Environmental Science, and Engineering website (http://www.uwyo.edu/wrese/).
