<p><span style="font-family:Helvetica"><font color="#000000">The Rice University Earth, Environmental, and Planetary Sciences department seeks candidates for a funded Ph.D. position in paleoclimate and climate modeling with a focus on African climate change. The researcher will work
with Dr. Sylvia Dee in the <a href="http://sylviadeeclimate.org/">Climate, Water & Energy lab</a> at Rice. </font></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:Helvetica"><font color="#000000">This position requires a strong background in climate science & modeling, as well as big
data methods for managing paleoclimate archives. Experience in numerical/statistical,
and geospatial modeling is required. Fluency in Python, Matlab, and Fortran, or any experience post-processing climate model output is especially valuable. </font></span></p><p><font color="#000000">Ideal start date is Spring semester 2020.
