We seek a talented student who is enthusiastic about unraveling
ice microphysical processes in clouds utilizing novel
combinations of state-of-the-art ground-based radar remote
sensing techniques such as radar polarimetry, Doppler spectra,
and multi-frequency radar. You will have the opportunity to take
active part in field campaigns including novel polarimetric
cloud radars at our research supersite JOYCE close to Cologne (<a
class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated" href="http://www.joyce.cloud">www.joyce.cloud</a>).
You will also have the chance to frequently exchange your
observational findings with our excellent modeling partners (U.
Cologne and German Weather Service) in the project. This will
allow you to develop strategies how the observed fingerprints
can be used to evaluate and guide new developments of ice
microphysical parameterizations.</span></p>
