        We seek a talented student who is enthusiastic about unraveling
        ice microphysical processes in clouds utilizing novel
        combinations of state-of-the-art ground-based radar remote
        sensing techniques such as radar polarimetry, Doppler spectra,
        and multi-frequency radar. You will have the opportunity to take
        active part in field campaigns including novel polarimetric
        cloud radars at our research supersite JOYCE close to Cologne (<a
          class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated" href="http://www.joyce.cloud">www.joyce.cloud</a>).
        You will also have the chance to frequently exchange your
        observational findings with our excellent modeling partners (U.
        Cologne and German Weather Service) in the project. This will
        allow you to develop strategies how the observed fingerprints
        can be used to evaluate and guide new developments of ice
        microphysical parameterizations.</span></p>

        The PhD position is embedded in</span><span

        (“Understanding Ice Microphysical Processes by combining
        multi-frequency radar polarimetry and super-particle modelling”)
        as part of the DFG Priority Programme 2115 „Fusion of Radar
        Polarimetry and Numerical Atmospheric Modelling Towards an
        Improved Understanding of Cloud and Precipitation Processes“

        for more information). The position is part-time (29.87 h per
        week/ 75% position) and salary is based on the German TV-L E13
        scale if terms and conditions under collective bargaining law
