role of global land use for the historical Earth system, a special focus lies
on land management (e.g., forestry, grazing, bioenergy) and its potential to

will work on the global carbon budget as simulated by Earth system models

One focus is quantifying land use emissions and reducing their uncertainties
through combination of several modeling approaches and observational data.
Beyond this, the candidate will have considerable latitude in defining their
