Plans, coordinates, conducts atmospheric sciences studies in support of the State Implementation Plan (SIP) for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). Provides expertise on chemical, statistical, computer, and other functions in the collection
and analysis of data to assess the relationship between emissions, meteorology and pollutant concentrations. Initiates scientific projects to be contracted out and oversees project development to completion. Prepares reports and presentations for Environmental Protection
Agency (EPA), the public, scientific community and management regarding air quality research analysis. Presents findings to the public, scientific community, and management. Conducts peer review of technical reports, presentations, and documents. Serves as
senior advisor and consultant to staff in technical matters and program functions. Adapts new data analysis techniques to enhance the agency's capability to assess air quality in Texas and provides leadership in the analysis of data. Interacts with local,
state, and federal agencies, the regulated community, and the public.<br class="">

Minimum Qualifications:<br class="">
<br class="">
Three years of full-time experience in data analysis, data research, data compilation, and/or reporting work.<br class="">
OR A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in engineering, basic science, computer science, environmental science, mathematics, statistics or a related field (COPY OF OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED WITH APPLICATION); plus one
year of the required experience.<br class="">

OR A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (COPY OF OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED WITH APPLICATION); plus two years of the required experience.<br class="">

Preferred Requirements:<br class="">

Experience in planning or conducting analyses of air pollution, meteorological, demographic, and/or other data.<br class="">
Experiencing collecting, validating and/or developing environmental data. Experience preparing technical or scientific reports, documentation and/or presentation.<br class="">
<br class="">
Experience using Statistical Analysis System (SAS) software or other Statistical software.<br class="">
<br class="">
Special Requirements:<br class="">
<br class="">
Moving up to 10 pounds of papers and reports. Traveling up to 5% of the time.<br class="">
