The Department of Geosciences is seeking a Research Scientist in Noble Gas Geochronology and Geochemistry. We seek an experienced and dynamic scientist to help manage and lead a new noble gas mass spectrometry facility with two new sector instruments focusing
on 40Ar/39Ar, 4He/3He, 21Ne geo/thermochronology and noble gas isotope analyses of groundwater.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p style="mso-margin-top-alt:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:7.5pt;margin-left:0in;line-height:13.2pt;box-sizing: border-box">
The scientist will lead development of routine and experimental approaches in collaboration with geologists, planetary scientists, and hydrologists at the University of Arizona and collaborating institutions in applications ranging from bedrock and detrital
geo/thermochronology, cosmogenic and nucleogenic dating, and meteorite exposure histories. The scientist will be expected to take initiative in establishing robust analytical protocols, co-directing facility development and maintenance, and helping train users.
This position is a year to year position contingent on satisfactory performance and funding.<o:p></o:p></p>
