The incumbent will take a principal role in researching, summarizing and communicating complex air pollution issues, particularly in how it relates to human health and Minnesota’s environment. The incumbent will provide expertise on a range of air issues and
will serve as a lead in air pollution data reporting and communication. The incumbent will organize, analyze, summarize, report, and make recommendations based on air monitoring data.

Minimum Qualifications:<br>

Candidates must have a Master's degree in chemistry, biology, environmental health, or related equivalent with a strong background in statistics.<br>

OR<br>
<br>
A Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, environmental health, or related equivalent with twi years of advanced professional experience in air assessment, analysis, air pollution assessment or evaluation or air modeling with a strong background in statistics.
<br>
<br>
Candidates need good communications skills to present environmental information to a wide range of business partners.<br>
<br>
Preferred Qualifications:<br>
<br>
Experience in air pollution.<br>
<br>
Experience with database, statistical, visualization and GIS software such as Excel, SQL, R, Python, Tableau and ArcGIS.<br>
<br>
Demonstrated project management and leadership skills. <br>
<br>
Knowledge of:<br>
<br>
Fate, transport, interaction and effects of environmental contaminants as well as biological, chemical and physical aspects of the environment.
<br>
<br>
State and Federal environmental laws, regulations, and guidelines. <br>
<br>
Methods of monitoring and sampling.<br>

Skilled in: <br>
<br>
Collecting information from diverse internal and external groups and creating communication products for internal and external groups.

Work effectively with others and coordinate with individuals involved in diverse environmental programs and research, to establish and maintain productive and open communications with clientele and other staff members.

Critically review, document and summarize information and data into comprehensive recommendations, reports, and presentations.

Conduct and represent the agency in public meetings with diverse groups including legislators, media and concerned audiences.

Physical Requirements<br>
<br>
Requires occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as file folders, ledgers, and small equipment. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.<br>
Driver’s License Requirements<br>
<br>
Requires a Class D Driver's License: a single unit vehicle with a gross vehicle weight of less than 26,000 pounds. This is a basic driver's license. Operators may also tow vehicles/trailers as long as the gross combination weight does not exceed 26,000 pounds.<br>
