The mission of RMRU is to develop ecologically-based knowledge systems and technologies for management, conservation, monitoring, and assessment of western rangelands.<br><br>The incumbent will conduct research and investigate the use of vegetation phenology to predict ecosystem responses to changes in climate and soil health. The incumbent will formulate phenological indicators of gradual and abrupt changes in primary production that integrate remotely-sensed imagery and ground-based observations. The ideal candidate will have experience with remotely-sensed data, modeling of spatial and/or time series data, and land surface modeling. The incumbent will also possess experience working with large datasets and data mining approaches and an understanding of plant ecology/phenology is desirable.<br><br><strong><span style='font-family:"Helvetica Neue"'>This is a temporary appointment with an initial not to exceed date of 2 years.
