scholar position in the area of the dynamics of the large-scale atmospheric circulation and weather extremes is available
at Rice University to work with Pedram Hassanzadeh. Problems of
particular interests are i) low-frequency variability of the extratropical
circulation, and ii) future changes in the large-scale atmospheric circulation
over North America and implications for extreme events.</span><br class=""><div><span style="text-align: justify;" class=""><br class=""></span></div><div><span style="text-align: justify;" class="">The successful candidate will have a strong
background in atmospheric dynamics, climate science, and numerical/statistical
modeling. Experience with idealized and comprehensive climate models and
